The Thai Association in Berlin e.V. has been commissioned
to take care of the Thai Park.

The Thai Association in Berlin e.V. was selected by the Berlin government to be the market operator of the Thai Park.

In mid-December 2020, the Thai Park vendors joined forces and submitted the application to be the market operator of the Thai Park on behalf of the Thai Association in Berlin e.V. to the district office in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. For this purpose, they had to present their goals in writing, prepare a financial plan, answer questions orally and send in numerous documents.

On February 23, 2020, the district office decided in favor of the association’s application, since its members have been working as vendors in the Thai Park for a long time.

The new concept for the park was created by the district office. A department has been created to deal exclusively with the cooperation with the market operator of the Thai Park. The district office has also determined that women vendors must be registered. The association can help to familiarize sellers and visitors with the new concept and rules. In addition, the association would like to host Thai cultural events on a regular basis.

At the moment, the district office and the association are discussing how this can work once the Corona measures can be relaxed. We hope that already this summer the Thai Park can be visited again.
